Bigger is always Better

Since Chris and I have been married he has got more and more into hunting. I have learned over the years that this means you always need a new gun or some sort of accessory for hunting. At first they were just small things then we had to get a hunting truck. When the Blazer came home I have never seen him more excited I tried to be happy for him but there was always something that needed to be fixed and I was not that thrilled when it was leaking whatever it was leaking all over the driveway. So one good thing came out of the North Carolina job I got to sell Trigger (that is right he named the Blazer Trigger). Chris had not been home a week from North Carolina and already we need something else a safe. This time I agreed when you have two boys who play shoot a animal catch an animal every chance they get and are always talking about their dads bushmaster you know it is time for a safe. So I am thinking something small we will put it down in the basement everything will be fine then we got to Cabelas and I saw the look in Chris' eyes I have learned with a hunter in the house bigger is always better. Luckily we left without getting anything then on Saturday he went back with his friend Robert when they got home they said they had purchased a safe. I asked Chris which one and he told me the biggest one (surprise surprise) then he also informed me at this time there was no way it would fit in the basement so we would have to put it in the front office which we made into a play room. When he told me it was the size of a refrigerator I thought he was exaggerating he wasn't as you can tell below. When it came in the house I wanted to cry I guess I will get use to it that is the price I pay for having a hunter in the house at least all the guns will be locked up. One more thing this safe holds 41 guns so everyone who is married to hunter knows what that means now he is going to need more guns.

A Day at the Zoo

Since Chris has had this week off before he starts his job we have been able to do lots of fun things with the kids. Yesterday we took them to the zoo and they all really enjoyed it. Each kid had a favorite animal and it was fun to watch them get so excited. Payton loved the little monkeys and the Giraffes the boys kept wanted to leave the Giraffes but Payton just kept looking at them and giggling it was fun to watch her. Carter loved the tiger he wanted to see the tiger from the time we walked in the zoo and when we first got there it was sleeping but it did raise its head up long enough for Carter to see it so he was excited. Jaxson loved the snakes and the alligators he really enjoyed seeing the white alligator that they had there. It was a fun day the kids had fun and they enjoyed having Chris there. It is going to be hard when he goes back to work I am enjoying all the extra help with the kids it is so nice to have him home again.

A Little Nap

When Carter wakes up from a nap he usually comes downstairs and finds someone to cuddle with. When he came down Chris was asleep in the chair he tried to cuddle with him but Chris was not moving so Carter gave Chris his blanket and Bambi (that is the dinosaur that Carter made at Build a Bear he loves it and can't sleep without it) I guess he figured this would help dad sleep better even though we all know Chris can sleep through anything. Carter loves having dad home it is fun to watch him with Chris he really missed him while he was gone.

Chris is Home!

Chris is finally back after 6 very long months. The kids could not be happier and they have not let him out of their sight since he walked off the plane. I can't believe how nice it is to have him home again and it has only been a day in a half. We all really missed him and I am so glad that he is home to stay. Jaxson and Carter could not wait to have a fire in the fire pit so that was the first order of business. Chris had only been home a few hours and the fire was going and they were roasting marshmallows they could not have been happier. My parents were also in town this weekend for Aubrey's baby blessing so we had fun visiting with them and the kids always love having Grandma and Grandpa around. Grandpa and Carter had fun around the fire then Grandpa pushed all the kids on the swing which they loved they can never get enough of the swings. So it was a great weekend we got to spend time with the family and Chris is finally home!!!

Bad Hair Day!

Payton after a 4 hour nap.

Dressing Little Girls

I always enjoyed buying clothes for the boys but I have to admit that I would always glance over at the little girls section and think those clothes are so cute I wish I had a little girl. Well my wish came true and I could not be happier the only problem is I don't seem to know when Payton has enough clothes. I will say that she comes no where close to having as many clothes as my niece Kaylee (sorry Kelly but she has an outfit for everyday of the month) but I will say that I have a hard time not buying a cute outfit when I see one. I am not going to complain though dressing a girl is fun the boys are fun also but they don't wear cute dresses or skirts and you can't put bows in their hair and if I did Chris would die. So at least I got one little girl and I am loving dressing her it is so much fun to see her in all the cute little outfits now if she would only keep a bow in her hair again.

The Walk

So I thought that it would be a good idea to walk to Kelly's house since it was such a nice day and I figured we could all use the exercise. Both of the boys decided they wanted to ride their scooters I wasn't that worried about Jaxson but I was not sure if Carter could make it but I figured we would give it a try. We didn't get far before I turned around and noticed Carter is stopped and getting into the backpack on the scooter when he looked up I could have died it was the funniest thing I have ever seen. He was so serious so I tried not to laugh but as you can see below the whole thing looks pretty fun.

We only made it half way to Kelly's house when Jaxson turned to me and said I thought this was going to be fun but it's not. So I guess the walk was not a total hit maybe we should have just walked around the block and then worked our way up to walking to Kelly's house.
