A Lesson On Sharing

When I was at the store the other day I bought myself a bag of the Reese's Miniature Peanut Butter Cups and then I went home and proceeded to hide them so that I would not have to share. My excuse for this was I am pregnant and sometimes after a long day with the kids a little chocolate treat tastes so good. So tonight I went to the cupboard and was trying to quietly sneak a treat when Carter walked in and caught me and this was our little conversation.

Carter: Can I have one of those?

Me: No theses are just for mommy.

Carter: Well Jesus Christ says that we should share.

Me: I know but this time I am not going to share this is a special treat just for me.

Carter: Then Jesus Christ is going to send you back up.

Carter cracks me up with some of the things that he comes up with and he is serious I almost had to give in and share my treat but I figured it would be worth going back up to have one treat just to myself.

Hawaii

Only Jaxson and Carter could go all the way to Hawaii and still find something that has to do with Star Wars. Their first question when they saw this surf board was can we buy it. I don't even think they really knew what they would do with it they just saw all the Star Wars pictures on it and wanted it and I guess they figured they would decide what to do with it later.

The kids had so much fun on this trip they saw sea turtles, dolphins, whales, lots of fish and they all got to hold a gecko. They went swimming in the ocean and swimming pool almost everyday and I think that we all enjoyed the warm weather. We also surprised the boys with a submarine ride with Chris and my dad and they loved it. When they came back they could not stop talking about the fish and the ship wrecks they got to see. We all had so much fun in Hawaii it was great to be able to spend time as a family and they kids loved playing with cousins and Grandma and Grandpa. The kids keep asking me when we can go back I don't think they understand that we won't being going back anytime soon I have to admit it was nice to be able to relax a little and enjoy the warm weather.

Payton as always was independent and wanted to do things on her own or she had to be right next to me. She enjoyed the beach and loved to play in the pool the only problem is she doesn't seem to care that she can't swim yet she just goes right in and hopes that someone is there to save her. It took her a little bit to warm up to playing in the sand but then she loved to play with the buckets and shovels on the beach. Payton is so much fun and I loved watching her play at the beach and in the ocean.

Having Fun at the Beach

The kids have loved playing at the beach Payton was not so sure about the sand and waves at first, but now she has absolutly no fear of the ocean at all. Someone has to stay between her and the ocean at all times because she will run right into it and does not care if the waves knock her over. Jaxson went for his first swim in the ocean and did good, but right when he got out there a big set of waves came in and he got held under the water for a little longer then he liked but he says he is going to go back in. The kids are all loving the warm weather and the being able to swim and play at the beach.

Our First injury in Hawaii

So we have only been in Hawaii for 3 days and Chris has already managed to get hurt. We went to our first beach yesterday and it was rocky but Chris was determined to go out in the ocean so out he went walking barefoot on the rocks and when he came back in he was bleeding from his foot and finger and you can tell from the picture below he really did a number on the bottom of his foot. Now he has a very sore foot and has to wear a diving bootie at the beach so no sand gets into the cut but he says the salt water really burns. Now we just have to make it through the rest of the trip with no more injuries and we will be doing great.

Batastic

Jaxson came home with another school project and this time he had to decorate a heart for Valentines Day. He was not very happy about this project he did not want to decorate a heart he said that only girls decorated hearts. So we had to think of some way to make him excited about this project and he said he would do it if we could make it look like Batman. Chris came to our rescue again and we made the heart into Batman and then made the message in the middle something that Jaxson could live with he was having a very hard time putting anything in the middle of the heart that had the words like, hug, or cute so Your Super Batastic worked out perfect.

Friday Night Dancing

I always think it is funny to look back at what my Friday nights use to be like and what they are like now. When I was single I could not wait to go out and do something and now I can't wait to stay home and enjoy the night with Chris and the kids. It seems like all week long we run around crazy I look forward to Friday for some reason it seems like we can just relax and enjoy a little family time. We usually always end up watching a movie or playing the Wii with kids last Friday we were done watching the movie and the music on the end came on and Payton and the kids were having so much fun dancing together. Chris and I just sat on the couch and watched them and laughed I think they could have done this for hours they kept having Chris go back to the music. It was fun to watch Payton try to keep up with her brothers she has turned into one tough little girl instead of trying to get out of the way before they run her over she just braces herself and gets right back up and keeps going after they have knocked her to the ground. I have to say that I love Friday nights now and I am so lucky to have such a great family to spend them with.

Payton's First Haircut

Today we went and got Payton's hair cut for the first time she did so good she didn't even cry she just sat there and let them cut her hair. I think this had a lot to do with the fact that they put on a Barbie movie for her and she was really enjoying the pink car that she got to sit in. I just wanted to even up the back and sides since she had not had a haircut since she was born and I figured it was time since she is going to be two in a few months. It is strange how a haircut can make them look so much bigger, but after we were done she just looked a little more like a big girl and a little less like my baby.
