Pinewood Derby

This was Jaxson's first year doing the pinewood derby and I can't say who was more excited him or Chris. There were many hours spent getting this car ready for the race. At first I thought it was a great project for Chris and Jaxson and I soon realized this was more of a project for Chris. As the weeks past I thought it would never be over and my counters would forever be covered in tools and paint used to make this car. The race finally came and the car did pretty well. Jaxson won 1st place in his unit and I can't remember how it did overall I am sure Chris can though. He is already talking about what he will do to make the next car faster. Chris and Jaxson had so much fun making this car and just as much fun watching it race.

Christmas

I know Christmas was a month ago but here are some pictures anyways. Christmas was so much fun this year. My mom and dad came into town and it was so great having them here. The kids were so excited and by the time Christmas came I think Payton finally was ok with Santa bringing her gifts and not just Grandpa. They all had a great Christmas Payton's Princess tent was a big hit and Logan loved Dance Star Mickey. As soon as Logan opened Mickey he was done with the rest of his gifts. He could not wait for it to get out of the box and then he just kept hugging it. Carter got a paper jamz guitar which he loves and Jaxson favorite gift was a lizard. That is right we now have a reptile in the house so far it has been good. Jaxson and Carter both love the lizard which they named Zeke and have been really good about taking care of him. So that was our Christmas it was great spending time with family and watching the kids enjoy their gifts.

A Cast for Christmas

With three boys running around this was bound to happen. I just expected it to be one of the older boys. The worst part is he walked around with a fractured arm for 3 days before I decided to take him to the doctor. I am not sure how he did it but I am sure he was climbing on something or trying to keep up with the older boys and fell. I just assumed that since he could move his fingers and was using his hand we were ok but I was wrong. After three days of not acting like himself I took him in and sure enough he needed a cast. This did not make me feel like the best mother but in my defense these boys are crazy and are constantly getting hurt. He does really well with the cast so far and I actually think he feels better.

Halloween

I can't believe how fast Halloween came this year. Since the kids are getting older they all want to be different things. Payton had to be Cinderella and I could not convince her to be anything else. She was really cute in her Cinderella costume though. Jaxson and Carter wanted to be something scary so Carter was a vampire and Jaxson was a ninja. Jaxson was a little sad that his costume was not scary, but I told him he could be something scary when he was a little older. Logan was a monkey which fits him perfectly. He was also obsessed with the Halloween candy I think he walked around for 3 hours straight with some form of candy in his hand. The only bad part about Halloween was it was cold and wet which made trick or treating not as much fun. The older boys still loved it so I guess that is what counts.

Chris worked his magic again this year with the pumpkins. Payton loved her Cinderella pumpkin and Carter could not have been more excited about his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pumpkin.

Payton's face describes perfectly how everyone was feeling about trick or treating it was cold, wet and miserable. Payton wanted to go home after the second house and then when we would get to a house where she knew someone she would try to stay it was so sad.

At the beginning of the month all of our family came into town for Jaxson's baptism. It was such a special day and it was nice to be able to share it with family and friends. Jaxson is such a great kid and had been looking forward to this day since his birthday. He was so happy to see all his family and friends that came to support him on his special day. Thanks to everyone for coming out and sharing this day with us.The baptism was a special day but the excitement did not stop there. On Sunday Carter woke up in the middle of the night saying his stomach hurt. He seemed fine when he woke up in the morning and ate and played so I thought the worst was over. He woke again the next night and then Monday morning at 11 he started with a stomach ache again. This time the pain did not go away and kept getting worse till I finally took him into the doctor. It ended up that he needed to get his appendix removed so we ended up having emergency surgery Monday evening. It actually worked out pretty well my mom was still in town to help with the kids so that was one less worry. Carter recovered very well and is now back to his energetic self.

Jaxson Turns 8

This post is a little late, but I figured better late then never. Jaxson turned 8 a couple of weeks ago. We had his party at the bowling alley and the kids had so much fun. Even some of the adults got in on the action and Logan loved it too. He started scouts and I could not resist putting the picture of him in his scout outfit he looks so big. He is the best kid he is always willing to help me. He loves to play with Payton and Logan and is very responsible. He does well in school and loves learning about Sharks and Reptiles. He loves to come home and tell us all about his day. Jaxson is such a fun kid and even though it is hard to watch him grow up it is so much fun to see the person he is becoming.

A Trip with Logan

Logan and I got to take a trip to California to go to my cousins wedding. It was so much fun to spend some time with just him. He also had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa. I think he enjoyed getting so much attention. He is such a great baby and it was so nice to be able to spend so much time with just him.
