Payton's Birthday

Today Payton turned 4. I say this every year but I really wish she would stop growing up so fast. She is so fun to have around she keeps us all on our toes and has the boys doing whatever she tells them to do. She still has dad wrapped around her finger and he still will not admit it. Some of her favorite things right now are Rapunzel, make up and anything that has to do with a Disney princess. We were driving in the car one day and the boys were talking about what they wanted to be when they grow up and Payton all the sudden spoke up and said I want to go to princess school I am going to be a princess when I grow up. I don't think she will need to go to school for this she pretty much has it down. She gives the best squeezes and loves to snuggle. She is usually very happy and her laugh always makes me smile. We love you Payton! Happy Birthday!

Payton's New Room

Before we moved Logan onto a bed him and Payton shared a room. We felt like it was time for Payton to have her own space especially since there is a large sign on the boys door that states there are no girls allowed in their room. We had talked about Payton's room for months and looked at furniture and were having trouble finding something we agreed on. Then Kelly came over one day and showed me this web site that had all this furniture that you could build yourself you just had to print off the plans. So we found a bed we agreed on and some bookshelves. Chris and I spent the next few days painting the room and putting up bead board. Then Chris built the bed and the bookshelves which both turned out so good. I was very impressed at how well everything turned out since this was the first time Chris had ever done something like this. We did have help from some neighbors which helped the project move along a little faster.

Kelly and I even made the curtains. Kelly did most the work I just pinned and she did all the sewing and we did it with 8 kids running around the house talk about a crazy day.

The nightstand I got at DI for $10 and then we painted it and put new hardware on it added a basket and we had a nightstand.

The bedding I had to give on Payton loves Tangled and has wanted this bedding forever so I gave in and she loves it. It was not that hard for her to talk me into this since it got her out of our bed finally.

The whole room turned out so cute. It was so much fun to do. Chris and I actually really enjoyed doing this project together. We did not do it alone though so thanks to Kelly and our neighbors who all helped us out so much!

No More Crib

After 8 years of having a crib up in the house we took it down a week ago. Logan was ready for a big boy bed it was me that had a hard time watching the crib be taken down. He has loved sleeping in his new bed and does really good at naps and at night. He is so proud of his Lightning McQueen pillow and blanket he has to show everyone that comes over. It is so sad to think of how big he is now. He is the cutest kid full of energy and constantly trying to keep up with his big brothers. He is also very independent and loves to do things on his own.

Disneyland

My parents took everyone to Disneyland again this year and it was so much fun. The kids are getting bigger and all have their favorite rides. Jaxson loves California Screamin, Carter loves Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain, Payton loves to walk through the castle and ride Peter Pan and the Tea cups, Logan loves the carousel. The kids also enjoyed spending time with their cousins and on the first day we met up with some friends and the kids thought it was really neat to have their friends at Disneyland. Payton spent a lot of her time on Grandpa's shoulders again I think she almost loves that as much as the rides. It was such a fun vacation and the kids are already begging to go back.

Grandma and Grandpa with the grandkids and we were missing two it is amazing how many kids there are now!

Pinewood Derby

This was Jaxson's first year doing the pinewood derby and I can't say who was more excited him or Chris. There were many hours spent getting this car ready for the race. At first I thought it was a great project for Chris and Jaxson and I soon realized this was more of a project for Chris. As the weeks past I thought it would never be over and my counters would forever be covered in tools and paint used to make this car. The race finally came and the car did pretty well. Jaxson won 1st place in his unit and I can't remember how it did overall I am sure Chris can though. He is already talking about what he will do to make the next car faster. Chris and Jaxson had so much fun making this car and just as much fun watching it race.

Christmas

I know Christmas was a month ago but here are some pictures anyways. Christmas was so much fun this year. My mom and dad came into town and it was so great having them here. The kids were so excited and by the time Christmas came I think Payton finally was ok with Santa bringing her gifts and not just Grandpa. They all had a great Christmas Payton's Princess tent was a big hit and Logan loved Dance Star Mickey. As soon as Logan opened Mickey he was done with the rest of his gifts. He could not wait for it to get out of the box and then he just kept hugging it. Carter got a paper jamz guitar which he loves and Jaxson favorite gift was a lizard. That is right we now have a reptile in the house so far it has been good. Jaxson and Carter both love the lizard which they named Zeke and have been really good about taking care of him. So that was our Christmas it was great spending time with family and watching the kids enjoy their gifts.

A Cast for Christmas

With three boys running around this was bound to happen. I just expected it to be one of the older boys. The worst part is he walked around with a fractured arm for 3 days before I decided to take him to the doctor. I am not sure how he did it but I am sure he was climbing on something or trying to keep up with the older boys and fell. I just assumed that since he could move his fingers and was using his hand we were ok but I was wrong. After three days of not acting like himself I took him in and sure enough he needed a cast. This did not make me feel like the best mother but in my defense these boys are crazy and are constantly getting hurt. He does really well with the cast so far and I actually think he feels better.
